How the typing test works
A short passage appears above. Just start typing it — the timer starts automatically on your first keystroke. Each character turns green when you type it correctly and red when you don't. When you reach the end, you'll see your final words per minute (WPM) and accuracy. Your best WPM is saved on your device so you can chase it.
Tips to type faster
- Accuracy first, speed second. Fixing mistakes costs more time than typing carefully does — smooth beats fast.
- Use all ten fingers. Keep your fingers on the home row (ASDF–JKL;) and let each finger own its keys.
- Look at the screen, not your hands. Trusting muscle memory is what unlocks real speed.
- Relax. Tense hands slow you down and cause errors — keep a light, steady rhythm.
About typing speed
The average person types around 40 WPM, a solid touch-typist hits 60–80, and professionals can exceed 100. WPM here is measured the standard way — every five characters counts as one "word" — so it's directly comparable to other typing tests. Practice a few minutes a day and watch your number climb.
